Diego Zegna
CEO, Founder
The co-inventor of Regula's methodology brings to the company his extensive knowledge and 25 years of experience in IT infrastructure, software, security and operations.
His career began in 1996 in the IT department at Lawer S.p.a. an international leading company in automatic remotely controlled dispensing systems.
He has been working in IT banking security and operations since 1999, when he first started advising banks, media and automotive industries in three disruptive areas: Internet Banking, Online Trading, E-commerce payment gateway.
A couple of years later, after being part of the core team behind one of the first Internet banking web systems in Italy Banca Sella, he founded his first IT startup.
Prior to becoming founder & CEO of KROIN AG, in 2015 Mr. Zegna was the Co-CEO and co-founder of BI-Different – an Italian based IT company behind the innovative concept YOU #rewardyourlife.
Previously Mr. Zegna was also one of the co-funders of ElvisPOS, a startup which built one of the most advanced Digital Retail Platform in 2013.
He was responsible for creating and supervising an ITSEC team in partnership with Cittastudi S.p.a. university in Biella, Italy. He managed this team during the startup telco named MEGAWEB: an independent broadband wireless Internet Service Provider.
Mr. Zegna was also a senior IT advisor for the gaming systems of a well-known company in Canada (NASDAQ listed company).
Mr. Zegna’s experience in auditing data for banks ranges from supervising electronic payment processes, credit card flows and processes to AML identification process.
Nikhil Jhangiani
Investor, Director
Mr. Jhangiani has 27 years of global experience in private banking and compliance and is an advisor to Kroin AG. Since 2003 he has also been CEO of Absolute Return Investment Advisors (ARIA) AG, an independent multi-family office based in Zug.
He advises a select number of small institutions and on their investments including macro portfolio overlays, Private Equity, Hedge Fund and Real Estate investments.
Prior to Mr. Jhangiani working at ARIA, he was the Chief Alternative Investment Officer at Ferrier Lullin & Cie SA, the oldest private bank in Geneva (now part of the Julius Baer Group), where he managed USD 1 billion primarily in hedge funds.
In 2001 he was responsible for supervising a corporate finance team that made direct private equity investments at Credit Bancorp S.A. Before that, Mr. Jhangiani was a hedge fund analyst at Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) in Geneva and New York, which is one of the world’s leading alternative investment managers, with USD 65 billion invested in hedge funds and private equity.
He started as an investment advisor in 1994, when he advised family offices in Geneva on the use of alternative investments including private equity, hedge funds, real estate and other non-traditional asset classes.
Mr. Jhangiani has also been a Board member at Peak Partners SA, Mimer Investments AG (part of a USD 5 billion Swedish Asset Management group, RPM) and Systematic Research of Investment Opportunities (SyRIO) AG.
He is currently also a Board Member of Salutem Healthcare Ltd, CNI Guard Ltd and Integrated Brand Delivery Ltd – all based in the UK, where he provides strategic advice on corporate financing, risk management and business development for the 3 companies that together have more than 3000 employees and almost USD triple digit million in annual turnover.
Mr. Jhangiani has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Cornell University (Ithaca, New York) and a Master's degree from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (Geneva, Switzerland).
Nikhil has been registered with the UK’s FCA, the Luxembourg regulator (CSSF) and Switzerland’s FINMA in his capacity as a Director of other financial services firms in the past.
He is a Swiss, Indian and Italian citizen and speaks fluent English, French, Hindi and Urdu; upper intermediate level Spanish and some German and Italian.
